Dr Stephanie Cox is a specialist physician in Obstetric Medicine, Endocrinology/Diabetes and Internal Medicine, currently working at Auckland City Hospital and in private at Mercy Specialist Centre starting October 2022.
Stephanie attended Medical School at the University of Auckland and completed dual specialist physician training in General Medicine and Endocrinology, through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, at Rotorua, Christchurch and Waikato Hospitals before returning to Auckland to complete a fellowship in Obstetric Medicine at National Women’s Health. She was awarded the SOMANZ Certificate of Obstetric Medicine in 2016.
Stephanie is currently Clinical Lead for the Diabetes in Pregnancy Service, Health NZ Te Toka Tumai (formerly ADHB) and is an experienced Obstetric Physician who is passionate about helping patients and their whānau plan and achieve healthy pregnancies.
Stephanie welcomes referrals covering all aspects of medical disorders of pregnancy, pre-pregnancy counselling, diabetes, general endocrinology and general internal medicine, including:
- Medical disorders in pregnancy
- Risk assessment and pre-pregnancy counselling prior to fertility treatment
- Diabetes in pregnancy
- General Diabetes – all aspects of management and complications
- Non-malignant Thyroid disorders
- Pituitary and Adrenal disorders
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
- Hyperlipidaemia and Hypertension
- Internal Medicine – undifferentiated patients and those with complex comorbidities
