Dr Emad Maher is a New Zealand-trained nephrologist and has been working as a renal physician at North Shore Hospital since 2011. He also works in private at Mercy Specialist Centre.
Dr Maher completed MBBCh from Ain Shams University, Cairo Egypt in 1996 and moved to New Zealand in 2001. He completed his nephrology training in New Zealand and obtained his fellowship with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, FRACP, in 2010.
Dr Maher is an Honorary Senior Lecture for the University of Auckland and an accredited Educational Supervisor for the The Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Medical Council of New Zealand.
His clinical interest and expertise include:
- Investigation and management of kidney disease, both acute and chronic.
- Work up and management of kidney stones.
- Management of people on dialysis or receiving kidney transplant.
- Supportive care of people with severe kidney disease not for dialysis.
- Management of Hypertension.
