Dr Bourke is a specialist Rheumatologist and General Physician (Internal Medicine Specialist).

Dr Bourke has an interest in all areas of rheumatological practice and particular expertise with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, connective tissue disorders, gout, pseudogout, osteoarthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, giant cell arteritis, ankylosing spondylitis and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Sandra does not provide consults for patients with hypermobility, EDS and/or other non-autoimmune CTDs.

Joint and soft tissue injections form a part of rheumatological practice and will be carried out if needed in the clinic room.

Dr Bourke is not ACC registered but will see selected ACC cases for a rheumatological opinion.

Dr Bourke is New Zealand trained. She completed her undergraduate medical training at the university of Otago (BSc, MBChB). She then completed dual training in Auckland as a Specialist General Physician and Specialist Rheumatologist with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2016. She has completed a post graduate certificate in sports medicine through the university of Auckland (PGCertHSc). She has held a number of roles in public hospitals throughout the Auckland Region and is currently working part-time as a rheumatologist at Auckland DHB.
