Himali Aickin is a Geriatrician and Internal Medical Specialist. Himali is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP 2020), trained in General and Acute Care medicine and Geriatric medicine. Himali studied at the University of Auckland (MBChB 2010 - Distinction). She has worked in Whangarei hospital (Northland) and at all hospitals in the greater Auckland area. Himali was appointed Chief Medical Resident at Whangarei hospital, and again at Auckland City hospital. As a trainee, Himali was part of the New Zealand executive for the Australia New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) and on the clinical issues sub-committee. Himali has an interest in multimorbidity, frailty, and perioperative medicine. Her other interest is clinical education. Himali works in public practice at Auckland City Hospital as a medical consultant in the departments of General Medicine and Older People's Health, and private practice at the Mercy Specialist Centre. Himali is an honorary lecturer at the University of Auckland in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
